**Responsibilities**
Ascension is seeking a strategic, data-driven Manager of Sports Sponsorship Marketing to maximize the value and impact of our sports partnership investments across multiple markets. This role will serve as the enterprise lead for all sports-related sponsorships-professional, collegiate, and community-driving measurable ROI through innovative activation strategies and performance analytics. The ideal candidate will combine business acumen with partnership expertise to ensure mutual goal alignment between Ascension and our sports partners, while leveraging advanced analytics tools to quantify value and optimize investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Optimization
+ Drive value creation and ROI maximization across all sports sponsorships, ensuring alignment with Ascension's mission, brand objectives, community impact goals, and service line priorities
+ Develop comprehensive partnership evaluation frameworks and valuation models to assess current and potential sponsorship opportunities
+ Implement data-driven approaches to continuously optimize partnership elements, identifying untapped assets and negotiating value-add opportunities
+ Establish clear strategic objectives for each partnership that align with business goals and create measurable success metrics
Sponsorship Valuation & Analytics
+ Implement and manage sponsorship analytics tools and technologies to accurately measure partnership value, audience engagement, and brand impact
+ Create comprehensive dashboards tracking all sponsorship KPIs including media equivalency, brand lift, audience reach, engagement metrics, and business impact
+ Conduct regular competitive analysis to benchmark sponsorship performance against industry standards and other ministry markets and identify optimization opportunities
+ Deliver data-driven recommendations on partnership renewals, expansions, or exits based on comprehensive ROI analysis
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies for sponsorship valuation and attribution
Market-Level Activation & Integration
+ Partner with local marketing teams to develop customized activation playbooks that maximize sponsorship value extraction in each market
+ Create best practices toolkits and activation frameworks that ensure consistent excellence in sponsorship execution across all markets
+ Guide cross-channel integration of sponsorship assets across paid media, digital platforms, social channels, experiential events, and earned media opportunities
+ Develop and implement innovative activation strategies that drive measurable engagement and conversion
+ Ensure all sponsorship activations reflect Ascension's brand standards while maximizing visibility and impact
Partner Relationship Management
+ Serve as a strategic liaison between Ascension and sports partners to ensure mutual goals alignment and value creation
+ Lead regular partnership reviews with sports properties to evaluate performance, address challenges, and identify new opportunities
+ Negotiate additional value-add elements and make-good opportunities based on performance tracking
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across partner organizations to unlock additional value opportunities
+ Work collaboratively with partners to develop innovative activation concepts that benefit both parties
Contract Management & Compliance
+ Support local marketing teams and national legal/advocacy groups in evaluating, negotiating, and managing sponsorship contracts across all Ascension Ministry Markets
+ Ensure all contractual benefits and assets are fully leveraged and properly tracked
+ Maintain comprehensive records of all sponsorship agreements, deliverables, and performance
+ Working with legal and compliance to develop standardized contract language and partnership templates that protect Ascension's interests while maximizing value potential
+ Create systematic processes for tracking benefit fulfillment and identifying missed deliverables
Cross-Functional Leadership
+ Collaborate with media, creative, digital, and community engagement teams to integrate sponsorships into broader marketing and business strategies
+ Support executive communications with data-driven insights on sponsorship performance and value creation
+ Provide strategic counsel to local marketing leaders on sponsorship evaluation, negotiation, and activation
+ Ensure Ascension's faith-based identity and mission-driven voice are reflected authentically in all sponsorship touchpoints
+ Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on sports marketing best practices and industry trends
**Requirements**
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
**Additional Preferences**
+ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred
+ 5+ years of experience in sports marketing, sponsorship management, or partnership activation
+ Demonstrated expertise in sponsorship valuation methodologies and ROI measurement
+ Experience with sponsorship analytics platforms and data visualization tools
+ Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of extracting maximum value from partnerships
+ Excellence in relationship management and cross-functional collaboration
+ Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
