Your role: The Certified Medical Assistant Supervisor provides supervision, training, and coaching to Medical Assistants under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager. This role includes direct patient care time (75%) and administrative time (25%). Administrative time includes assisting with timecard review and approval, scheduling/staffing, training, progress reviews, disciplinary action, and site meetings. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Perform Supervisor - Medical Assistant duties and responsibilities: Collaborate with other site-based leaders in establishing, implementing and maintaining quality patient care, improve quality metric standards and meet the external client expectations. Direct training/supervision/coaching of Medical Assistants including performance appraisals, in consultation with other site-based leaders. Review and monitor EHR tasks (e.g. Individual and Pool In Baskets, Schedules) to ensure accurate and timely completion of patient care and follow-up. Responsible for completing monthly competencies for staff under their supervision. Demonstrate knowledge of all policies and procedures pertinent to their work area and staff under their supervision. Assist Clinical Nurse Manager with schedule efficiency, coordinating vacation requests and sick calls to ensure appropriate clinic coverage. Ensures opening and closing duties are completed (including laboratory and medications) and understands quality controls in the laboratory. Ensure clinical support/back-office manuals and logs are maintained. Has knowledge of the quarantine process. Knowledge of storage, handling, ordering, and reconciliation Vaccine for Children supplies. Supports the ordering of clinic supplies. Other duties as assigned. Perform Medical Assistant duties and responsibilities: Performs examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures within scope of practice and in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and workflows. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; appropriately responding to emergency codes; communicating safety issues/concerns timely and appropriately. Maintains patient care and non-patient care records in a confidential, accurate, and timely manner. Prepares paperwork for provider signature by completing as much information as possible before submitting to provider. Escalates patient/customer concerns to professional/licensed staff when appropriate. Performs opening and closing lab procedures including quality control, autoclaving, and packaging of instruments. Examples of routine work/tasks include but are not limited to: coordinating a pre-visit planning session (i.e. huddle), rooming patients in preparation for their visit, pre and post visit patient care in accordance with STRIDE policies, performing "Nurse" or "Medical Assistant" visits for specimen collection or protocolized care, scheduling internal/external patient appointments, instructing/educating patients on topics appropriate to scope, maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and notifying clinic leader when supply ordering is required. Registers, checks-in, and checks-out patients for all services. Collects and uploads all necessary documentation and consents. Promptly and accurately updates patient records including financial and demographic information. Collects copayment and account balances at time of service. Completes annual competency assessment. Adheres to professional standards, policies/procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, accreditation standards. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. MA Certification required BLS Certified required Additional language proficiency (bilingual) is highly preferred. Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency. Ability to work from procedure manuals. Ability to travel to other clinics for coverage, as needed. Capability to respond to the needs and concerns of STRIDE's diverse patient population effectively and sensitively. Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients. Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products and Electronic Health Records (EHR). Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly. Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee, and business information. • Ability to perform basic math. Tools you'll use Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, Microsoft Office Outlook, EHR, autoclave, centrifuge, hemocoel, glucometer, nebulizer, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen cylinder, spirometry, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, waived and moderate complex lab test kits, fetal Doppler and electronic thermometer. Working Environment and Physical Activities Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse and keyboard. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making. Schedule This position will oversee all 3 Convenient Cares sites (Wheat Ridge, Hampden & Chambers, and Peoria). The supervisor will travel to the respective sites, 1 work day at our Wheat Ridge Clinic, 1 work day at our Hampden and Chambers Clinic, and 3 Work days at our Peoria Clinic. Hours will vary based on clinic need. We offer a competitive hourly range of $26.00 - $30.83 , depending on your experience. This range reflects STRIDE's good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting.
