JOB DUTIES

  • Provide tutoring and similar academic assistance services to students via multiple platforms.
  • Provide supplemental academic support to individual students and small groups.
  • Demonstrate and use technology, audiovisual aids, and other materials (as necessary) to supplement tutoring sessions and presentations.
  • Promotes student participation in social, cultural, and recreational activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meets with students and assists in improving academic achievement to clarify learning problems and work on study skills.
  • Review class material, discuss text, predict test questions, formulate ideas for papers, or work on solutions to problems.
  • Meeting informally with student and faculty groups to plan co-curricular activities.
  • Evaluating co-curricular activities, suggesting modifications when appropriate.
  • Conducting orientation programs for new students with program faculty and staff.
  • Providing peer counseling (individual or group) on any selection of social activities and use of leisure time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be a current College student.
  • One (1) year of experience tutoring.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates and/or Bachelors Degree
  • Two (2) or more years experience in higher education
